What is a commission?

A commission is when you pay an artist to create an original artwork for you. In this case, the artist will use an image of your choice as inspiration for the artwork.

What do I get when I pay for a commission?

  • The artist will create an original artwork, inspired by an image of your choice, and share the artwork on Sktchy

  • You will get a standard-resolution file perfect for sharing on Facebook, Instagram and other social networks

  • You can also get a high-resolution file perfect for printing if you choose that option during checkout

  • You will not get a physical piece of art or a print through this transaction (not available at this time)

How long does it take for an artist to complete a commission?

Participating artists set their own Delivery Time (in days). You will see a Delivery Time section on each commission listing.

Can I commission an artwork as a gift for someone else?

Yes! Email info [at] sktchy [dot] com, and we’ll get back to you right away.

Can I buy the original or a print after I see the artwork?

The artist may be willing to sell you the original or a print. This would be a separate transaction not included in the initial purchase.

Can I get a refund after the artist completes the commission?

You can get a full refund up until 48 hours after the artist shares the commission on Sktchy. Please send your refund request to info [at] sktchy [dot] com.
